Rose, Blanche, and Dorothy graze our Maryland pastures year-round, producing exceptionally rich milk with 70% more fat and 66% more protein than goat milk. Their milk is the foundation of this balm—what sets Shepherd's Harvest apart.
We render sheep tallow in-house, triple-filtering in small batches for exceptional purity and a smooth, creamy texture. Combined with lanolin for barrier protection, hydrolyzed keratin for protein conditioning, and sheep milk for nourishment, this balm brings together everything sheep offer for skincare.
Enhanced with magnesium chloride—a mineral powerhouse for skin conditioning that helps skin retain moisture and feel softer. Raw honey acts as a natural humectant, drawing moisture into skin and holding it there. A blend of seed oils—oat kernel, pumpkin seed, carrot seed, and sunflower seed—adds rich fatty acids and skin-nourishing compounds.
The whipped texture makes this rich balm surprisingly spreadable and absorbent. It melts into skin without heaviness, leaving it soft, smooth, and powdery-soft for hours.
Sheep Tallow vs Beef Tallow
Sheep tallow has a smoother, creamier texture than beef tallow and contains palmitoleic acid—an omega-7 fatty acid valued in skincare. We render it ourselves in small batches and triple-filter for purity and an exceptionally smooth finish.

Every jar of our of Shepherd's Harvest Tallow is whipped with pastured sheep tallow, lanolin, hydrolyzed keratin derived from sheep wool, and pure, fresh sheep milk from one of our three dairy ewes. It is also enriched with magnesium and honey.
